Saturday 10:00 am-12:30 pm. January 24, 2026. Create unique folded and hidden messages in the Victorian tradition. Based on a square single page, we will score a predetermined pattern. The complex fold spirals open like a pinwheel and collapses back into the original small square. It is like a sophisticated fortune teller in that you can add messages and designs to each separate part. The challenging design offers many possibilities to delight your valentine.

Saturday 10:00 am-2:30 pm. February 28, 2026. Design and print on scrim* (theatrical screen mesh) for decorative banners to display indoors or outside. The step-by-step process will enable you to explore new ways of creating pleasing abstract (non-representational) designs. You will work outside your comfort zone by exploring a different approach to color theory. The narrow and long banners can fit in unused spaces for display or elegantly fly in the breeze. We will cut our own stencils and apply acrylic in faux-airbrush style. We will use non-toxic materials. No previous experience necessary. No drawing skills needed. * provided and pre-cut

Wednesdays. 10-12:30. January 7, 14, 21, 28, 2026. Make up date: February 4. This four session class will introduce students to printmaking by using recycled cartons as plates. By cutting shape, incising lines, and experimenting with layering, students will learn relief and intaglio style printmaking. Tetra-Pak cartons serve as an excellent jumping off point for students to create their own unique designs. All non-toxic materials.

Wednesdays. 10:00 am-12:30 pm. February 11, 18, 25, March 4, 2026. Make up date: March 11. This four session class will introduce students to the creation of tessellations using relief printmaking techniques. Tessellations, such as MC Escher’s artwork, involve the creation of pattern and design through repetition. By carving shapes in linocut blocks, students can produce a repeatable pattern with seamless transitions. Students can customize their own fabrics with these patterns, but must provide their own fabric to print on; the instructor will provide details and suggestions during the first class. No experience necessary. All non-toxic materials.
