Professor Anna Snædís Sigmarsdottír of the Technical College of Reykjavik and I exchanged and collaborated on a series of monoprints in the spring of 2015. In 2014, I received a Summer Study grant from Walnut Hill School for the Arts which helped fund my trip to Iceland with the Boston Printmakers. At the Íslensk Grafík, I met Anna, who was willing to work collaboratively with me to plan an international print exchange. During the spring semester of 2015, our students mailed prints back and forth between the US and Iceland, building layered prints. Professor Sigmarsdottír exhibited the prints at the College in Iceland in April, 2015 and spoke with Radio Iceland on May 9, 2015 about the project. I exhibited the prints at the SOWA Art Walk, Boston, MA, in May, 2015. Our students sent prints and stencils and received the same from Iceland. Here is a sampling of the monoprints Anna and I and some of the students worked on together.
